One last conversation | Poem by The Mockingjay | feeling alone poem

About this Poem – It’s 2 at night, and the poet has boarded their first one way flight… In this poem, the feeling of being alone at that moment is described.

I left those pages unread, and candles half burnt.
I left my bed empty, and sheets undone.
A sharp pang of losing something so dear,
held it so much closer.
Questions blurred in front of my eyes.
Alike submitting to weakness and being washed away.

I have been looking forward to this moment for long,
How shadows hid my lips.
I packed my bags,
Enveloped in warm sweaters,
my favorite perfume.
Felt,
Tasted,
Breathed,
So comforting!
I looked myself in the mirror,
Lingered for a while,
I tried and tried..
could hardly wiped that thought away out of my mind.

That face!
So much familiar.
And everything else played in front of my eyes
Like a flashback!
You weren’t coming with me!
Silent tears,
Like an invisible footprints in the empty space.

Like an awful dream, it haunts me when I’m alone.
of how I left those candles half-burnt,
Beside my empty bed,
A deep shade of black,
And I cut the invisible cord off,
My journey began here…
And you weren’t there!
