Brief Introduction: ‘A True Friend’, this poem is about a person, who is depressed because he feels himself as neglected, and wants to die. But he is taught the lesson of life’s beauty by his friend, who is a true companion for him.
I was there in the dark, sitting and imagining, about nothing but of dying.
Of dying, because everyone I knew had left me alone, alone in the world of chaos.
Lying there, I couldn’t imagine, imagine the hatred they besieged.
For a person like me, for whom only their love was almighty and glee.
Hearing the violent winds of the cyclone outside, I realised my end was near.
At that moment a strange sound came,
and from the locked basement, a face got framed.
As the whole body appeared, an unsteady voice came.
“Come down my friend!!”, the misty person cried.
“Why haven’t you left me, as all others have”, it was me who replied.
“Because, whatever the world does” the voice became deep,
“The rope never looses its end, so how can I allow myself, to loose my own friend.”
“A friend who is so foolish as such, yet I don’t know why, I like him so much”
Balls of tears welled in my gloomy eyes,
and I hugged him with tightness, more than suffice.
Moving quick, he closed the basement door, as the house flew, like the pole of a semaphore.
Alive, as I was, I watched, as all my worldly possessions went into the wood.
Yet the gain of a single hope, had given me strength more than a rocking whale should.
The strength of love, the strength of life, the strength of true friendship.
From a person with whom, I have a very special relationship.
