Brief Introduction: This is a short English poem written by Joshua Nyambe. In this poem, the poet talks about his feelings and emotions while he is out on his corridor, being alone.
Out alone on my corridor,
star gazing
Lively are my dogs running about from one side of the yard to the other
with the calm atmosphere,
my heart rejoice in ecstasy,
in companion with the moon and the dark, I feel free.
The sky brightens up as day breaks, my soul shoves in despair, trembles as my body firmly cease its movements
Every whisper I made increased a mass on my suffering, that even my tears would sparkle to an extent similar to a meteoroid, I would make a wish, I can’t. The beauty is seen from afar and the sorrow is inside a shooting star, where it lands it leaves a deep scar, burdens, pain, all that dwells within my heart, strings attached to my happiness are deserted, They fail to blend in, it hurts even more when I show it, even worse when I endure it, I hide my smile just to fake it,
Even in a worst scenario, my reactions bring about more misery, every thought Pierce my heart, with a thorn on my head, my brain speaks death.
