Brief Introduction: This poem by Gul Sanowber is on a friend – a best friend. Read on to know how a person feels when they cannot stay in touch with their them.
All these years we haven’t talked
much about our life, no phone calls,
no messages. I miss us.
Not a single day passes by when I don’t miss you.
Late night calls, deep long conversations about love,
life, teasing each other with names.
I miss everything.
During school days, how we use
to play basketball, like Raj and Anjali.
I still smile and sometimes laugh while remembering those days.
Sharing tiffins, Chicken biryani
made by your mother is still
my favourite.
How we use to comfort each other,
when one of us was sad.
But, everything changed after
we passed out from our school,
our second home.
We both became busy in our lives ,
we forgot our friendship,
our bond, our love and care for
eachother.
I sit back in my backyard
holding a cup of tea in my hand
and give a little thought about
what went so wrong that we
stopped talking to eachother.
I’m still looking for reasons.
